A week in words
I’ve been considering a personal writing and living challenge, but with kids + life I’m not sure if I can make it happen. On the other hand, if not now, when?
The idea is to explore one idea or approach to being human, one day or week at a time.
These are the themes I’ve identified as most meaningful to me at this time:
Be Frugal.
Be Kind.
Be True.
Be Decadent (this absolutely conflicts with my starting point: Be Frugal. That’s ok.).
Be Scared.
Be Quiet.
Be Brave.
Thoughts, readers?
My youngest has taken great satisfaction in saying, “Move back” when disturbed or bothered.
Shakespeare wrote, “Get thee hence, beggar!”
I love hearing his clear message, and if that’s the reaction I receive to my explorations, too, then I’ll be ok with that. Let’s see how this goes over the next few days.
Reminder: the first approach is Be Frugal.

Kind, true and brave are good, and scared is a good thing to be while trying to be kind, true and brave. I’m not so sure quiet is a good thing anymore. I think we all need to be noisy together (say, politically, for instance). But I’m all for frugal decadence. Isn’t that what thrift shops are all about?;-) This has probably not helped you in the least, but you did ask for reactions…
Great list Sara! I think I would add “Be open”. I’m working on this…it’s a work in progress. I can be stubborn, so I may sometimes quickly dismiss someone else’s opinion or suggestion if it doesn’t match my own. I am working on “being open” to my loved ones’ suggested solutions to the speed bumps I hit on the road of life…one speed bump at a time
Oh I love that. I have to add “Be open” to my exploration.
